Remembrance: The Legacy After the Funeral

RememberanceIf you and your family are typical, your grief process has hardly begun by the time your departed loved one has been laid to rest.

Here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center , we understand that grieving has many stages and can take a long time and that each person handles grief in their own way.

Remembering your departed loved one and keeping his/her legacy alive both publicly and privately is a very important part of the healing that takes place as you grieve.

One way to maintain that legacy is through ongoing remembrance gatherings of family and friends on special occasions such as your loved one’s birthday, the anniversary of their death, among others.

We here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center remember as well.  In fact, each year we host a special All Saints Program at the end of October in a local York, PA church for all families who had a loss in the year prior.  We honor you and your loved one by inviting many local ministers to speak, providing music by a local flute choir and recognizing each person departed during the previous year by name.  We also present you with an ornament keepsake to further pay tribute to your loved one.

This type of remembrance marks a milestone in the legacy and is one more way to help you, your family and close friends to find your way through healing to go on with your life and continue to celebrate the life of those departed.
