As a part of celebrating the life lived by your loved one and allowing family and friends the opportunity to say goodbye, each in their own way, a visitation or reception is often held.
Visitation may also be referred to as the “viewing”. Typically scheduled for one or more sessions of approximately two hours and held at some point prior to a funeral service, visitation allows friends and family of your loved one to visit, speak with the family and likely view the deceased. However, in some cases, the deceased may not be present in a casket or urn.
The format of a visitation is much like an open house with visitors coming and going through the scheduled time. Often, refreshments are available for guests or sometimes just for the family in a private area.
Here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center in York, PA, we are committed to the care of both your departed loved one and the family. Our experience with such visitations assures that we can anticipate and see to the comfort of all guests and family.
