A burial ceremony is often called a graveside service or commitment service. 

Typically, this type of service takes place at the burial location, usually in a cemetery although not always. 

It is usually the final opportunity for family and perhaps friends to say their final farewell. 

A burial service may be formal, perhaps with clergy officiating and including readings, poetry, music, etc.  Or it can be just an informal gathering to share thoughts and perhaps prayers for your loved one.

You might wish to honor your loved one with the traditional burial service that follows and viewing and a funeral service, or you might have some other wises in mind.
