Funeral Urns for Cremation

UrnsDuring the last two decades, the choice of cremation has increased in this country and is second only to burial of the intact body, according to the National Funeral Directors Association.

Along with this increase in popularity, the variety of urns has widened and now includes an endless array of creative, artistic and unique options from which a family may choose when a loved one has died.

In fact, if you will be pre-planning your funeral and cremation is your choice, you may wish to purchase your urn in advance, as well.

Here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center, we can show you many examples, help you choose just the right urn to fit your needs, and then see that your loved one’s remains are securely sealed in the urn you choose when the time comes.

There are a variety of options for the final handling of cremated remains; and your funeral director, here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center can advise and assist you.

  • You may place your urn in a niche at a columbarium (similar to a mausoleum, a columbarium is a secure structure/room for the purpose of containing cremated remains).
  • You may elect to bury the urn in a cemetery – perhaps a family plot.
  • You may keep your urn in some other significant place, such as your home.
  • You may scatter the cremated remains by air, over ground or over water, subject to some restrictions.  Your funeral director can advise about allowable practices in your community.
