Why Plan for Funeral, Burial, End-of-Life?

Why an End-of-Life Plan?Taking the opportunity to create a plan to be carried out by those you trust at the time of your death gives you peace of mind because you will know that your wishes for your final affairs will be carried out by  trusted loved ones. Of course, it also removes a burden from your family since they will avoid the uncertainty, wondering if the arrangements they make are what you would have wanted.

It includes pre-planning the details of a memorial service or funeral ceremony as well as your final disposition through burial or cremation. However, it should also include much more.

Your plan should include details of important accounts, copies of important documents, sources of benefits you receive, household details, care of pets, property and vehicles you own, professionals who hand your affairs.

This is the perfect time to review your Will or create one, if you have not done so already.

Likewise, preparing or reviewing your Living Will and durable power of attorney for health care purposes are important.

Completing your End-of-Life Plan should not be rushed, and is best done while you are healthy.  That way, you can take the time you need to examine all options, consult with professionals, gather documents and details – all long before they are ever needed.

Here at the Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center, we have helped many people like yourself in York County, PA, and beyond,  with this pre-planning process.  Please feel free to contact us with questions or for an appointment to discuss how to begin and complete your End-of-Life Plan.
