When a beloved pet dies and you must say goodbye to your companion, it is often difficult.  When the veterinarian asks what you wish to do with the remains, it might come as a surprise if you have not considered it.

There are a number of options, depending upon your relationship with your pet and your resources.

If you want to keep your pet close to you and you have the space, you might with to have a home burial.  However, if a more formal memorial is your wish, then a pet cemetery burial will be your choice.  A popular alternative is cremation which then allows you to keep your pet’s remains in a pet cremation urn either at home or in a pet cemetery. 

Keepsake memorials are a very popular way to honor your pet who has died.  Pet-themed keepsake jewelry such as pendants, bracelets and other accessories are available to hold a small amount of the cremated remains.  Jewelry and accessories featuring your pet’s nose print or paw print are also a popular way to keep your pet close.
